ZTE Racer – Performance Oriented
The Racer is a candy bar unit that sports a 2.8 inch touch screen. It is QVGA resistive instead of capacitive but since the performance is top notch it is hardly a cause for concern. The 240 by 320 pixel resolution screen is clear and on the mark, able to display up to 256 thousand colors. You can find lots of cheap mobiles if you do an online comparison. For instance, you can find lots of great ZTE Racer contracts to compare.
Chassis wise, the ZTE Racer has a nicely tapered body. It is wider at the top and slender at the bottom, giving users an ergonomic, firm grip on the handset. It is also light weight at only a hundred grams so it would be easy to place in a pocket.
As for the battery, the smart phone comes equipped with 1100 mAh lithium ion battery which lasts up to 200 hours on standby mode and up to 3 hours and 30 minutes during nonstop talk time.
Multimedia Phone on a Budget
Since the ZTE Racer is an entry level device, it is easy to assume that it will not be able to function well as a portable audio or video player. Fortunately, the smart phone is fitted with excellent speakers that preserve the audio quality even when used on its own.
As for those who prefer listening to their music in private, a 3.5 mm audio port is, of course, provided. Audio files of the WAV, MP3 or eAAC+ formats and video files with the MP4, H.263 and H.264 file extensions may be played. In order to hold all the images, music and video files, the Racer’s memory may be expanded up to 8 GB via a microSD memory card.
