iPhone 4 Noted as the Fastest Selling Record
Sales of Apple’s latest iPhone blew a wish on the first day of sales in the market, although there are shortcomings and embarrassing mistake via an online reservation foiled by many sellers.
Apple shares rose nearly three percent on Wednesday after announcing the iPhone sales in excess of 600 thousand 4s, a record volume preorder for only one day.
That puts the device in the right lane to go beyond the previous iPhone model sales and iPad tablet computer, and sounded as a strong challenge to rivals like Nokia Corp., which surprised by weaker sales of cell phone unit.
But Apple apologized on Wednesday for preorder that must be cancelled after a surprising volume of user online bookings in excess burden of ordering and approval system and stock inventory has run out.
Apple Website said that the product orders will be shipped on July 14, three weeks after the scheduled launch time on June 24 in stores and slower than the promised delivery July 2 came on that day. This site is still slow on Wednesday, so not yet clear whether there will be reservations.
Exclusive U.S. phone carrier, AT & T Inc. said it has stopped selling preorder and will be re-done after the inventory has been available. Read the rest of this entry »
